Masonry Contractor in Damascus, Oregon | Retaining Walls, Patios, and Repairs
Damascus lots are bigger and hillier than the suburbs around them, and that means a lot of properties here need a retaining wall before the yard is really usable. If you’re fighting a slope, planning a big outdoor space, or dealing with an aging chimney, we can help. Ramos Masonry does brick, stone, block, and concrete across Damascus and east Clackamas County. Family-owned, Oregon CCB #224839, since 2010. Call 503-857-5988 for a free estimate.
What We Build and Fix in Damascus
The hilly terrain out here makes retaining walls our most common Damascus job, holding back slopes so you can build, plant, or just use the yard. We do them in stone or block depending on whether the wall will show. The big lots also mean room for serious outdoor living: full stone patios, outdoor fireplaces, fire pits with actual space around them. The older homes along Foster Road have chimneys from the 70s and 80s that need the usual repointing and cap work. And with acreage all around, we do plenty of block foundations for shops and barns. One crew, every job.

Brick, Stone, Block, and Concrete in Damascus
One crew takes the project all the way through, whatever it’s made of. We work the east metro regularly and stay reachable after the job’s done. With the bigger projects Damascus lots tend to call for, knowing the scope and the budget up front matters, and that’s what the free estimate is for. Here’s how we approach each material, with the main office a call away.
Brick Masonry
Brick work in Damascus splits between fixing the older homes and building on the rural lots. The 70s and 80s homes along Foster Road and SE 172nd have chimneys that need repair after 40-plus years: cracked mortar, failed caps, water getting in. On the building side, the bigger lots have room for proper brick patios, driveway pavers, and brick fireplaces, indoor or out. Brick veneer comes up both on older homes getting freshened and newer rural builds that want some character.

Stone Masonry
Stone retaining walls are the single most common stone job in Damascus, because nearly every property here has grade to deal with, and stone handles the structural load while looking like it belongs. The big lots also make room for stone patios, outdoor fireplaces, and fire pits at a scale you don’t get in the tighter suburbs. We work in flagstone, basalt, and manufactured veneer. Stone veneer suits the rural character, and we round it out with walkways, garden walls, columns, and accent features.

Block Masonry
On Damascus acreage, block does the big structural jobs. We pour block foundations for shops, barns, garages, ADUs, and additions, and build retaining walls on steep ground where cost matters more than looks. The larger lots mean bigger work here: taller walls, larger footprints, equipment buildings. Block is the most affordable material for that scale and it goes up fast. When a wall’s going to be seen from the house, we face the visible sections in stone veneer.
