Sandy’s elevation is rough on brick. Above 1,000 feet, the freeze-thaw cycle works water into every joint and then expands it, so mortar fails faster than it would lower down. On the older homes near Proctor, we handle chimney cap installation, repointing, and crown work, all with materials rated for the conditions up here. For exposed brick that’s still solid, masonry sealing adds a layer of protection against the extra moisture and snow. We also build brick patios and walkways, set to handle the runoff and the cold.

Stone Masonry
Sandy’s hills mean stone retaining walls are some of our most common work here, holding back slopes, stopping erosion, and carving out level yard space. On the living side, stone patios, outdoor fireplaces, and fire pits suit a town where people are outside year-round. We build with flagstone, basalt, and manufactured veneer, and the natural stone look fits Sandy’s mountain setting better than just about anything. Block Masonry
On Sandy’s terrain, concrete retaining walls are the biggest block category we handle, because so many lots need grade held back before anything else can happen. Beyond that, we pour block foundations for shops, barns, garages, ADUs, and additions. Block is the most affordable material for the scale of wall Sandy’s slopes call for, and it goes up fast.
